There is a difference between looking and observing an object. Every day I walk past the same objects but never stop to appreciate them. With more time on my hands than I could ask for, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have slowed down to appreciate every detail and texture. The lack of color brings more awareness to the object itself and, with the help of heavy contrast, creates drama. I could have just took an image of the object itself but decided to to go macro because I wanted to exaggerate the smallest most "insignificant" items I could find. I did this in the hopes that even after we go back to normal, I still take the time to notice the smaller objects around me.
